Key holding for your property

Keyholding services keep an authorised set of your property keys and arrange access when needed. For owners living abroad, this can make it easier to coordinate planned visits in Montenegro without travelling solely to let someone in.

What to expect

Depending on the provider and your agreement, keyholding may include arranging access for maintenance workers, cleaners, inspectors or other authorised visitors. Some providers may also offer a response when access is needed unexpectedly; confirm availability and any extra charges in advance.

Before handing over keys, agree in writing who may request access, how requests are verified, where keys are stored, and what happens if keys are lost or the arrangement ends. Ask whether the service covers your property’s location and whether visits or call-outs are included.

Keyholding is often offered as part of property caretaking in Montenegro, but it is not a substitute for insurance, alarm monitoring or a comprehensive property-management agreement.
